A one-day workshop aimed at total beginners. This workshop provides tuition in High Warp Gobelin Tapestry Weaving Techniques, including how to warp up a frame, weave blocks, stripes and simple shapes using colour and texture.
By the end of the day you will have created a beautiful sampler which will give you the technical skills required to then go on and produce your own work.
Rebecca will also bring along some of her own work and talk about how you progress from a sampler into more advanced work.
Rebecca has a BA (hons) degree in Constructed Textiles, specialising in Tapestry. She studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. After graduating, she began working in the Textile department at DJCAD as a Textile Technician and has worked there for nearly 30 years. She is extensively knowledgeable in Woven tapestry and is also very passionate about anything textile related.
